The File

Dez is the new guy, and he is new in more ways than one. He died Tuesday in a scooter accident and still showed up for orientation on time, which already puts him ahead of half the building.

He is the only one at ZMB1 who still has a little life left in him, and the whole night shift can smell it. Security sniffs him. Patty Z starts a betting pool on how long he lasts. Stowbie counts his fingers twice.

Dez just wants to do his job, hit his rate and figure out why nobody here has a pulse. He is not sure if he is supposed to be scared or promoted.
